Great place that seems secluded and simple. Cheap camping, 6 bucks, and 6 miles from the nearest big road. Loved the water reserve that looked especially spectacular. No showers or running water avaible. RV’s are welcome. All overnights are capped at 14 days straight.
Interesting driving. Lots of straight roads that you'll want to speed through but take your time and look around.
It is beautiful. The area is so large you can be by yourself and think. The land has various ecosystems, high desert with junipers, mountains with evergreens. Creeks, lakes and ponds have fish, birds and all kinds of wildlife. The headquarters have good maps or you can just explore. The winters here can be extreme and you can die so be wise, plan ahead and be prepared.
Beautiful forest, little Chipmunks everywhere running across the road playing Frogger! Beware of the cows in the road! No fires, no smoking please... even the direct burns! Very Smoky from other Forest fires!
Wonderful view after gorgeous view. Highly recommend that you take your time with an alternate route through this beautiful high desert wilderness!
